NOVIC Noise and Vibration Control


Services Bert Roozen was born in the Netherlands in 1962. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology in 1986, summa cum laude. From 1986 to 1995 he worked at Fokker Aircraft in Amsterdam. In 1992 he obtained his PhD in technical sciences from the Eindhoven University of Technology. From 1995 till 2010 he worked for Royal Philips Electronics in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, starting at the Philips Research Laboratories as research scientist and later on at Philips CFT and Philips Applied Technologies as chief scientist. Since 2010 he took the initiative as owner of NOVIC , a consultancy firm in the field of noise and vibration control. Moreover, from 2003-2011 he served as a part-time professor Acoustics and Noise Control at the Eindhoven University of Technology and from 2008-2012 he was President of the Acoustical Society of the Netherlands (NAG, Nederlands Akoestisch Genootschap). From 2010-2012 he was affiliated to Delft University of Technology. From 2012 until 2015 he was working as an IEF (Intra-European Fellow) at KU Leuven, and since 2015 he is guest professor at the Laboratory of Acoustics, Department of physics, KU Leuven, Belgium. Next to his part-time affiliation at KU Leuven, he is working as a consultant for his firm NOVIC, lecturing of a number of courses, among which the Higher Course in Acoustics, Antwerp, and the course noise and vibration control at Mikrocentrum. Among his many achievements Bert Roozen is co-credited with the successful noise reduction of Fokker Aircraft and Philips MRI scanners. He is (co-) author of 32 papers in peer reviewed international journals, 116 other public articles and 22 filed patents.
